EtherNet/IP to MQTT

Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix and Micro800 over EtherNet/IP (CIP): symbolic tags, UDT members and arrays, read by name — Program:Main.Speed. Design it in the editor, validate it, build the package and run it.

Implemented, not yet proven on hardware. The Allen-Bradley CIP driver deploys and runs in this release of the Edge Runtime. It has been tested against a simulated controller, not yet against a real one — so treat the first commissioning as the verification.
Architecture

Typical use case

A ControlLogix line reporting production counts and states to a broker, without a change to the controller program.

The Allen-Bradley CIP driver deploys and runs in this release of the Edge Runtime. It has been tested against a simulated controller, not yet against a real one — so treat the first commissioning as the verification.

Configuration approach

Tags by name

Controller and program-scoped tags, UDT members and array elements, exactly as they appear in Studio 5000.

One definition, many destinations

The same tags can go to a broker and to a database or an OPC UA client at the same time.

Quality travels with the value

A tag that stops being readable is published as such, never as a repeat of the last good number.

Build a EtherNet/IP to MQTT gateway

Create a project, define the device and its tags in the Edge Logic Editor, and download a runtime to test at the plant.
