Smart meter (M-Bus, DLMS) to MQTT

Heat, water, gas and electricity meters that do not speak Modbus: wired M-Bus (EN 13757) on a serial line, where a tag names a record of the meter's telegram, and DLMS/COSEM (IEC 62056) over TCP by OBIS code, 1.0.1.8.0.255, with the meter's own scaler and unit applied.

Implemented, not yet proven on hardware. The M-Bus and DLMS/COSEM drivers deploy and run in this release of the Edge Runtime. They have been tested against simulated meters, not yet against real ones; DLMS is TCP only and parts of its stack are reconstructed, so treat the first commissioning as the verification.
Architecture

Typical use case

A building or a campus with sub-meters from several vendors that should all land on one broker as kWh, m³ and kW, with a name and a quality each.

The M-Bus and DLMS/COSEM drivers deploy and run in this release of the Edge Runtime. They have been tested against simulated meters, not yet against real ones; DLMS is TCP only and parts of its stack are reconstructed, so treat the first commissioning as the verification.

Configuration approach

M-Bus records

A meter answers with a whole telegram; a tag names a record in it, record=0, or a quantity such as energy.

OBIS codes

1.0.1.8.0.255 for active energy import and the rest, as the meter's documentation lists them.

Publish rate

Meter totals change slowly; a periodic publish keeps the message volume sensible.

Build a Smart meter (M-Bus, DLMS) to MQTT gateway

Create a project, define the device and its tags in the Edge Logic Editor, and download a runtime to test at the plant.
